Surgery Day

We wanted to give you an update on Colin. We took this photo right before he went into surgery. He seemed in good spirits and just wanted to play his DS football game as long as possible. The surgery started at 8:42 am and we received an update at 10:30 that all is well. They told us the surgery will be between 4 to 6 hours, so we patiently wait. We wanted to thank all of you for your positive thoughts and prayers they are much appreciated right now. We also wanted to thank those of you that have posted a comment for Colin. He has read them all and it really means a lot to him and us.

  1. Dear Colin & family, I have been thinking about you today and praying that all goes well. I just read the update from earlier today and know that you are probably still waiting to see little Colin post-surgery. He is in expert hands with Dr. Starr and his team! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I wish little, brave Colin a quick and painless recovery and hope the surgery and programming will allow him to be able to return to a normal life.

    Hugs,
    Martha Murphy

Hi Colin, can’t stop thinking about you today!

My daughter had her DBS surgery with Dr. Starr 7 ? years ago when she was 18…she is doing great! A graduate of SDSU, just bought her first condo all on her own, ran two 26-mile marathons and is set to run another one this month in Nashville, jumped out of an airplane? twice?crazy I know! Nothing stops her from doing exactly what she wants, and nothing will stop you! All thanks to the truly wonderful people at UCSF.

Colin, I am so looking forward to hearing all about your life?s adventures.

Eat as much ice cream as you can:)

Colin – I haven’t met you, but I know your dad; I work with him from time to time on the Board at SDCEA. I do have you in my prayers, along with your mom and dad. You are one tough little guy and my prayer is that you recover quickly and are back home soon!! Hugs to you!
